Snot Head

Yesterday I took Juliet to her Dentist appointment. We were a little early so we waited in the car for the office to open. She was being her usual monkey self and was climbing all over the car. She had her feet up on the back of the passenger seat and the other on the back of the back seat. So she was kinda in the air. Well she just thought this was great.

Well I guess its dusty up there in the sky of the car because Juliet sneezed. Now she's got mondo allergies, she gets that from both her Grampy and her Daddy. Plus she's been fighting a cold. So you can imagine what came out of her nose.

for those of you with weak stomachs skip the next paragraph!!!

It was green, I mean radioactive green. It was long, coming down to her chin and it was thick it looked like the size of an earthworm. You know the ones that come out after a rainstorm and you think they could burrow through concrete they are so big. Ya that's what was hanging from her nose. A long, earthworm size, radioactive green snot string....and it was nasty!

So I bend down to get the tissues from the floor board and when I sit back up Juliet is laughing and the booger is gone.

Where is it Juliet?

hahahaaa

Juliet, stop laughing and tell me where it is?

she keeps laughing.

I'm thinking she either sucked it back in or worse, put it in her mouth (ok even writing that made me gag!)

Until I see her little finger still shaking from laughter point at me. I followed her eyes and pointing finger to my hair....ya that's right you read it right. It fell in my hair.

I had to wipe it out and I couldn't go back home and wash my hair before I had to get back to work. Uck it was so gross and yet so funny. Juliet and I laughed about it for a good five minutes. It still makes me gag a little to think about it.

Priority might be off......

So my good friend and I are trying to be healthy and all that goodness. So when we saw a flier for a wellness fair with a seminar.....we decided to attend.

The seminar was awesome, it really motivated us to start doing what we need to be doing and to stick on track. It gave us some helpful hints on what our course of action should be since everyone is different.

So after the seminar, which happen to be in the evening, we were about to leave when a lady and her husband are leaving. This is the conversation we hear:

Husband: No I don't want that
Wife: well where do you want to eat?
Husband: I don't know somewhere close and good
Wife: well we could go to the Circus circus they have a buffet.

Um I'm sorry, did you not just attend a wellness seminar about how we should be taking care of our bodies and our eating habits and what can and will happen when you do not.... You are not even out of the room and your talking about going to Buffet.

I just thought it ironic and funny and a tad sad too. Those poor people sat there for 2 hours and got nothing out of it!

Wahoo its here.

Last weekend I went to Costco and bought the Nutrisystem. Its 35 days of 3 meals and 1 dessert/snack. I chose this system for a couple of reasons one: it tells me what to eat and when. I dont' have to figure out my points or count calories or any whoha like that. I like the fact that I am being told what to eat. I mean giving me a choice was how I got in this situation in the first place. I need to be re-trained to know what appropriate portions are and what kinds of food should be the norm in my life. Two: I don't have to go to any meetings or meet with some skinny counselor who gets to watch me humiliate myself by stepping on the scale or having the dreaded measuring tape wrapped around me. I don't have to talk about my feelings of why I think I eat so much.....just because I like food. Why does there have to be issues? And I don't have to listen to other peoples stories. If I wanted to know I would have asked. :)

I like that I can go to my box every day and pick 4 items and then my fruit bowl, pick 1 or 2 of those and that is what I am allowed for they day. I like that I can track my progress on line and if I am in a sharing mood I can go to a chat forum there.

This will be good for me, this and the fact that I get up to go the gym at 5am now so I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day!

We will see what ends up. It will take me several months to get the rest of my weight off, but I had hit a plateau and needed something. This I'm sure will help. :)

The rest of the story.

So I should wait until she was actually born to tell the rest of the story but that won't be until 10:02 tonight....so I will do it now. :)

I was in labor for 16 hours when my doctor came in and asked me what I wanted to do. I said I wanted to try to do this so she kicked up the meds and gave me another four hours. 20 hours in she came back in and asked again... I said I really wanted to try this. 22 hours in, she came in and said she couldn't hold off much longer. I told I desperately wanted to try to do this so she told me she would put me on the schedule for a c-section with in 2 hours. If I hadn't dilated enough to break my water I was going to have to do that.

Half an hour before my 2 hours were up she came back in and checked me. Both of us were surprised to find that Juliet had not dropped any...in fact she went back up a little. She said that was it and that I was going to have to have a c-section. I signed the paperwork. Got wheeled in and on the table.
They gave me the epidural and in no time my body was gone to me. At 10:02 our stubborn little Juliet came crying into the world. The first time I saw her she was purple and had a mass of black hair. I cried, Jason cried and he went with her to get all her checks and shots while I had to stay back and get stapled and sewed.

They wheeled me into the recovery room. I was there for two hours. I slept some and concentrated on moving my limps...I do not like that feeling at all). I was finally wheeled into my room and mom brought me my baby.

Ok let’s go back for a sec. Last and only time I had seen her she was purple....Jason is super white and I have been known to blind a person or two when I feel adventurous enough to ware short, my legs are so white.
So when I saw Juliet...I almost said that one isn't mine. She was soooo dark. We do have Mexican on my moms’ side of the family and Indian on my dads. So its not like it came out of nowhere, it just surprised me.

We were in the hospital for another three days before I could be released. So a total of five days up in there. I love that hospital! Mom and dad had to stay overnight on one of the nights because of the blizzard the raged outside. We had lots of visitors....I felt bad though. I was on a morphine drip so fell asleep a lot when people were talking to me. :)

Today Juliet is Four. I really can't believe it. She still has a darker tone to her skin and can tan so prettily it kinda makes me sick. haha. At around six months her black hair fell out and blond grew in. She still has super blond hair which she loves cause it makes her look like Hanna Tanna. She has a nice mixture of both Jason and I and actually looks a lot like my sister Deborah.

She picked out her outfit today so of course it was all pink... I mean the whole thing. :) and she has a ribbon that says birthday princess to wear around school. We won't have her party until this upcoming weekend because Jason should be home by then. Hopefully. I am leaving work early to take her to the movies and dinner. A small surprise. She LOVES the movie theatre and can name all the ones she's seen.

We love her very much and hope to have more someday but if that doesn't work out she is truly a blessing to us!

The start of it all....

Exactly four years ago to the day, I was getting ready to be induced with our daughter Juliet. She wasn't dropping like she should have been and my doctor was concerned she was getting to big and I have a very small torso so she might be getting squished.

I worked my whole shift that day, at five I said good-bye to everyone, took one more piece of cake for the road and headed home. Jason and I packed our bag, had dinner, got as much as we could ready for the new addition. I remember the surreal feeling of knowing we were leaving the house empty but coming back with three people instead of two. Of course I had no idea what it would be like, even living in a family our size, I still wasn't prepared for it all.

We were to meet my doctor at Barton Memorial at ten pm to start inducing. Barton is up at the lake, a good 45 minute drive so we left at eight. We had plenty of time to drive there...in the snow, check in and start the process.

I got in my room, in my fancy gown, my IV hooked up and the meds a dripping. I was excited, nervous and frankly tired...already. But I was ready......

The contractions started shortly after. They put a special monitor on my belly to keep track of Juliets heart beat, course it was on the side I wanted to lay on and Juliet would have none of that. Stubborn from the beginning. The contractions were felt but not painful or bothersome. So I tucked in for the night, hoping that at any minute I would be able to tell the doc that the process was moving along and our baby ready to come.

Did it? well, I can't get too ahead of myself. You'll have to find out what happens tomorrow. :)....Just like we did.

St..who's day?

Juliet and Eric were very excited for St. Patricks day. They got all dressed up in green, made sure they knew the rules about pinching those who did not where green...but not to hard! :)

But I think there was a little bit of a misunderstanding. Both were very excited for the lovable but usually not overly celebrated holiday, and I understood why when Juliet and I were going to the store to get some green cookies and she asked me when spongbob day was....

see they both thought it was Patricks day, Patrick is the starfish best friend of spongebob.

How cute is that!?!?

Interpretations

Juliet and I were driving back to daycare from morning school when we started playing our I love you game. I'm sure every family has this little game, its the who loves who the most game. I start off by saying "guess what", "what" she replies, "I love you" I say and the she usually goes to "but I love you a bunch of days" and so on and so forth. Well this day she went into all the people she loved and all the people who love her.

she named off all her aunts and uncles but forgot Deborah and Tyler...and so the conversation went as follows

You forgot Aunt Deborah and Uncle Tyler. They love you a bunch of days too.
They do?
Yes they do
Why?
Because they think you are a cutie pie.

At this Juliet starts laughing really hard. I mean knee slappen, can't breath laughing. I find this funny, not unusual as she is like me and starts laughing like this either for no reason or at something very little.
she calms down a little and on a sigh says
Ha, I'm a pie.

It was super cute and brings you back to the thought that kids dont' always know our nickname or terms for things and therefore can be interpreted differently. I love kids!

I love this!

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with lightning. The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school and she feared the electrical storm might harm her child.
Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child's school. As she did she saw her little girl walking along. At each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up, and smile. Another and another flash of lighting followed quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and s mile. When the mother's car drew up beside the child she lowered the window and called to her
'What are you doing?'
The child a answered
'I am trying to look pretty because God keeps taking my picture.'

May God bless you today and everyday as you face the storms that come your way...

And we're back

We had the most amazing time. We started out Monday night and drove 12 hours to my Mother in Law's house in Southern California, while there we went to a county fair where they had rides, animals and even a sea lion show. It was great. Wednesday we drove 5 hours (it was suppose to be only 4 but got lost....) to Anaheim. We visited with my Brother in Law and my niece for a bit. that was great!

Thursday morning we drove to the beach, it was cold but oh so fun!!!!! I love the beach. Juliet liked it as well which is good for a while there she had a slight fear of the water. But then it was off to Disneyland. 3 Fun fill days of sensory overload!

I will go into details when I have all my pictures downloaded. But there was a lot of rides, a lot of walking, a few meltdowns, a wheelchair, princess overload and the task of getting Deborah's picture taken. :).

Like I said more on those things when I have pics but needless to say it was soo much fun and can't wait to do it again!
